Outpatient Facilities San Diego

Alvarado Parkway Institute provides an extensive continuum of care which includes a 66 bed inpatient psychiatric  and addictive disorders treatment facility,  three outpatient services programs, aftercare and family  support groups, and the API Discovery Clubhouse weekend program.

La Mesa Outpatient Services Campus

The La Mesa Campus offers round the clock assessment, treatment, and stabilization of acute conditions.

The Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient Services Program (PHP/IOP) is located at the main  hospital  campus.    Each program is a distinct level of care in our treatment continuum. The PHP program provides structured treatment for clients who have completed inpatient programming or for individuals in need of intensive care to avoid hospitalization or re-hospitalization.   The Intensive Outpatient Program is available to clients who are coming from the community, or who have completed PHP, or who are discharging directly from the inpatient setting.   The Evening Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Services Program and the Outpatient Opiate Detox Program are also offered at the main hospital campus.  Our Assessment Services Department team can help identify the best treatment option for you.

Located in the City Heights area of San Diego, the OPS San Diego program provides services to clients Monday - Friday. Two sessions are available - an AM track and a PM track to better accommodate client preferences. Monthly visits by a psychiatrist as well as group, individual, and family therapies are provided. Case management services with a carefully selected treatment coordinator is a key component in the provision of care. Access to a general medical practitioner can be arranged as needed. Transportation to and from the program is available. A continental breakfast and lunch are also provided. 

The API Discovery Clubhouse

Saturday/Sunday only, 12pm - 4 pm

Through a partnership with San Diego County's Health and Human Services Agency, API has sponsored the Discovery Clubhouse for over a decade.  Consumers develop and operate the Clubhouse on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  The focus of Clubhouse activities is to promote socialization and leadership skills, provide pre-employment and vocational training, encourage healthy living,  and learn about community resources.

"The Clubhouse  focuses on strengths and skills rather than limitations.  We want members to feel a sense of belonging and appreciation for each other."

Conveniently located off the Magnolia exit in El Cajon, The API El Cajon campus offers a variety of therapeutic treatment modalities to promote independence, manage psychiatric symptoms, and avoid hospitalization.  The program structure  is similar to that in the San Diego Campus with an emphasis on health and wellness, medication management, and improving life skills.

The PATH Program is a unique partnership between PATH Connections Housing and Alvarado Parkway Institute to provide mental health care and treatment to PATH residents living in the the downtown  area. The staff at the API PATH program work to help clients identify signs and symptoms of mental illness, promote wellness and recovery and eliminate the barriers to long term housing solutions. API  supports PATH's charter in providing outreach services to  individuals living with mental illness who are homeless or at risk of becoming so.
