The Psychology Department at API provides a variety of educational opportunities working both in the Inpatient and Outpatient settings. Training includes:

Psychology ~ Inpatient & Outpatient Service

Provides group psychotherapy, psycho-education, individual & family therapy, and psychological testing for all inpatient and outpatient programs

• Emotional Regulation Therapy
• Body Image Groups
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
• Stress/Anger  Management
• Smoking Cessation
• Health and Wellness
• Life Skills Training
• Reminiscence Group Therapy

Training Opportunities

• CAPIC Approved Internship Site & Training – on site supervision of pre doctoral interns, post doctoral fellows and M.F.T trainees.

• Weekly in services provided by on site psychiatrists &  psychologists
• Interdisciplinary treatment team participation

• Interns provide in service training to hospital staff and others throughout the community

• Post doctoral fellows develop in-patient and outpatient curriculum.

• Supervisors include both psychiatrists & psychologists
