Many members of our community who live with mental health and substance abuse issues may not need or want to get treatment in an Inpatient setting.

Whether it is the degree to which the problem impacts your life or time and family constraints, we at Alvarado Parkway Institute recognize that many people can and do benefit from support, intervention and treatment on an Outpatient level.

Within the Outpatient structure, API provides its clients with a variety of treatment options depending upon the individual needs of the patient.

Depending upon the severity of symptoms, diagnosis, or demographics, we have a program that can be tailored to each individual. All of our programs are multidisciplinary in approach and are focused on patient- driven, achievable goals. These programs stress the need for reintegration in the community and provide the follow-up and support services needed.

The following is a list of the programs that fall under Outpatient Services with  a brief description provided for each.

The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a highly structured treatment setting designed for patients who have been recently discharged from an Inpatient setting or are managing an acute episode and want to minimize the need for hospitalization.

Our Outpatient Program provides mental health and substance abuse services in a structured, but less intensive manner. Our clients come fewer days per week and/or fewer hours each  day. The individual programs have greater flexibility in their scheduling and are more focused on maintenance, reintegration and independence. API provides a variety of different programs under this model based upon diagnosis, geographic location and levels of functioning.

The Clubhouse Model is dedicated to decreasing the  stigma of mental illness. A client-centered and operated program where personal empowerment, education, vocational rehabilitation, and creating a sense of community are the goals, the Clubhouse encourages members to be an active and productive part of their Clubhouse family as well as the community at large.
