A Mental Health Worker/Adjunctive Therapy Assistant is a non-licensed and non-discipline specific staff member who is trained to provide direct patient care as a Mental Health Worker to ensure safety and well being of all patients as well as provides therapeutic activity based groups to adults with psychiatric illness. Mental Health Worker/Adjunctive Therapy Assistants provide services in two separate clinical departments: Nursing and Adjunctive Therapy. While in Adjunctive Therapy, the Mental Health Worker/Adjunctive Therapy Assistant provides healthy leisure and social group interventions and positive structure to the patient milieu. The minimum of a high school degree is required as well as CPR and AARC training. This position requires flexibility, positive interactive skills, and basic knowledge of human behavior and principles of psychology. Experience in psychiatric or geriatric care is preferred.

Maintain facility and furnishings in a clean, orderly fashion for patients, employees and guests at our facility. Removes and replaces soiled linens from designated patient areas. Removes trash and waste from designated areas of facility. Clean floors in patient and non-patient areas. Assist in preparing facility for special functions, including setting up tables, chairs and equipment. Must be able to meet deadlines and set priorities and have skills in dealing courteously with the public and with patients within the organization. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Full understanding that safety is as important as well as job completion.

Provides optimal utilization of API/BHS' continuum of care by developing and maintaining direct referral relationships in designated markets. Must be able to demonstrate effective targeting and territory management skills by identifying the most viable potential referral sources within particular target market(s). Must effectively incorporate relevant research findings (e.g., demographics, referral patterns) in identifying contracts. The Business Development Coordinator will facilitate between the referral source and API regarding admissions, progress and discharges. You will be responsible for coordinating leads with referral sources and clinical outreach staff.
