The Mental Health Program serves clients who are independent in activities of daily living but are challenged with a mood disorder, chemical dependency, or both. Specific group interventions are designated to treat each of these populations in an active and enriched environment of group interventions and individual sessions. Chemical dependency groups are offered daily to address the 12 Step Philosophy, relapse prevention, and pain management. The Mood disorder groups address issues of coping with depression, anxiety, grief, and post traumatic stress disorder. All clients on this unit are encouraged to engage in a broad variety of adjunctive therapies such as art therapy, music therapy, recreation therapy, occupational therapy, pet therapy, and spiritual care.
