The Inpatient units at API are designed to provide structure and support during times of crisis.

Based upon a comprehensive assessment where acuity of symptoms, diagnosis and medical needs are evaluated, patients are placed on one of three units in the hospital Intensive Care Treatment.

Once the patient has progressed in treatment they can be placed on the Inpatient Step Down Unit where they focus more intensely on discharge planning and setting up the appropriate resources to help them successfully reintegrate back into the communitie.

Throughout the continuum of care, API’s treatment team is multidisciplinary focusing on the strengths of the patient. The Team, which is inclusive of the patient, creates goals that are achievable with outcomes that are measurable.
